CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY!!!!!

We are excited that you are considering Intricate Health for your prenatal care and delivery!

Here is some important information you should know about Intricate Health:

• Our practice consists of Dr. Gibson a board certified OB/GYN and Cori Poovey a nurse practitioner.  Cori will assist Dr. Gibson with your care during office visits, but she does not come to the hospital.
• All of your prenatal care is in our one office located at 525 Shiloh Rd, Ste 2100, Plano, TX 75074 (The office complex by the Davita Dialysis Center). Most pregnancies need 10 to 14 appointments.
• We pride ourselves on spending enough time with you at your appointment, providing you with reliable information and advice, and working with you to ensure a safe and successful delivery.
• We do take care of twins and other high-risk patients, sometimes with the co-management of a Maternal-Fetal Medicine team.  Occasionally, however, some new patients have medical conditions that are best served at a high-risk obstetric health care center.  Examples of some conditions that we can not provide care for are Triplet pregnancies and women with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 50 or more.  Please ask our receptionist if you are concerned about our ability to manage a pregnancy with your medical complexities.

As a solo practitioner, Dr. Gibson cannot accept every newly pregnant patient.  To maintain a high level of quality prenatal care, Dr. Gibson is limiting her obstetrics panel to 8-10 deliveries a month.  We calculate your due date by referencing the first day of your Last Menstrual Period (LMP).  Be sure to ask if the deliveries per month have been met for the MONTH you are due PRIOR to your appointment. Established Intricate Health patients can call or send us a message through the Patient Portal.  Please have your updated insurance information with you, current email address, and your calendar.  If you are new to Intricate Health we will provide you with information about setting up an account.  

Your first appointment at Intricate Health is typically eight weeks after your LMP.  At this appointment you can expect an ultrasound to confirm your pregnancy (and heartbeat and due date), meeting with the clinician, meeting with our nursing staff to provide educational materials, laboratory testing, and review of your insurance benefits.  You should plan to be at Intricate Health for approximately 90 minutes. This appointment is typically not part of the medical insurance “Global” prenatal care package.  

We are in network with all major insurances, although some specific plans are not covered.  You will need to call your insurance to ensure that we are in network.  We work with healthcare cost sharing programs as well.  We do not accept Medicaid nor Aetna as either primary or secondary insurance.  For women who do not choose to use insurance, we have a separate fee schedule. All patients at Intricate Health are required to follow our financial policies and sign an OB agreement.

We only deliver babies at Methodist Richardson Medical Center.  Please check with your insurance to make sure that Methodist Richardson Medical Center is In-Network with your plan.

Dr. Gibson is on call most days for her practice.  She currently has board certified female OB/GYNs that may cover her, but Dr. Gibson does attend 85-90% of all of her deliveries.
