Typical Pregnancy Appointment Schedule
First Trimester
From first day of last menstrual period to 13 weeks and 6 days
8-9 weeks
•Confirmation of Pregnancy with vaginal ultrasound
•Baseline Universal Laboratory testing
•Update of electronic medical record
•Insurance/Financial review
•Receive a pregnancy welcome bag
10-12 weeks
•Ultrasound to confirm a growing baby
•Pelvic and physical exam, test for Chlamydia/Gonorrhea, Pap (if needed)
•Review of blood test results
•Review/discuss options for Chromosome Screening Tests for the fetus (such as Down Syndrome), and Genetic Carrier Screening for Mom
12-14
•Optional appointment for Nuchal Translucency testing done by the specialist (not in our office)
•Listen to baby's heartbeat
Second Trimester
14 weeks to 27 weeks and 6 days
15-19 weeks
•Optional Screening for genetic testing if the first trimester genetic testing was not done (blood work)
•Check for neural tube defects ( Spina bifida) if early first trimester genetic testing was done
•Listen to baby's heartbeat
18-20 weeks
•Ultrasound for fetal anatomy screening and development, currently done with the specialist and not in our office
•Boy vs. Girl … if you want to know!
•Review of ultrasound and other results with you

•Routine check up
Third Trimester
28 weeks until delivery
28 weeks
•Plan for 90 minutes in our office for this appointment
•Lab screening for Gestational Diabetes (1 hour Glucola) and Anemia
•Vaccination for Pertussis (Tdap) is recommended up to 36 weeks
•Start Fetal Kick Counts
•Rh Negative mothers receive RhoGAM
•Start scheduling pre-planned C-Section, if appropriate
•Receive our Third Trimester Information folder
